Running Accomplishments:

Started running in 2001.  Have completed over 100 marathons and ultras since then. 

Marathon PR 2:56:04 (2005 St. George)

New PR 2:53:24 (2008 Tucson)

Finished 2nd Overall in 2005 Utah Grand Slam to Paul Peterson.  He beat me by 30 min in every race.

1/2 Marathon PR 1:23:56 (2008 Just Cuz Half Marathon)

Completed the Utah Grand Slam 10 consecutive years (2003-2012).  I don't know if anyone else has done that.

Short-Term Running Goals:

2018 Goals:

Just get back in shape after slacking hard in 2017.

I do half my running in Idaho and half in Utah due to my work.

Maybe run another marathon later in the year.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Maybe run a Marathon once in a while....but I am not in that competitive mode anymore.

Personal:

I'm in the 50-54 Age Group.....Yikes!

I have been married for over 30 years.  We have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

I decided I felt good enough to try running again.  While not at 100% yet I know that exercise will make me feel better.

I ran 3.00 miles easy on the treadmill before church today.

I ran another 3.00 easy treadmill miles before dinner just to try and make it a fairly productive day.

It is 3-below outside so I am still on the treadmill.  I ran 5.00 easy miles this morning.  The only sickness effects are a slight cough and a stuffy head when I wake up.

I ran another 3.00 on the treadmill before dinner.

8.00 miles on the treadmill again this morning.  The weather is looking a bit warmer so I might actually get back outside this week.

I felt really crappy again this morning....lots of coughing and stuffy head.  Decided to bag the run to see if I could feel better.

I felt much better today.  Still some coughing but as soon as I had run for 3-4 minutes it subsided.  I was planning on running 6 but I was feeling so much better that I picked up the pace after 4 and then again after 6.  I ran 8.00 miles on the treadmill.

It was 24 degrees this morning with a wind chill of less than 15 at most times.  It wasn't too bad except when I ran directly in to the wind.  I ran 10.62 miles.
